Many Artists are self-employed. They take on the projects they want, and plan their own schedules. They set their own fees, and keep the profits to invest in their business or spend as they see fit. You can enjoy career independence when you choose this exciting career!

Work where you want, when you want
Nearly 6 out of 10 Artists are self-employed, many of them fine Artists who earn their income by selling their work. Of those who are not self-employed, many work for advertising agencies, commercial art and reproduction firms, or printing and publishing firms. The U.S. Department of Labor predicts that employment opportunities for Artists will grow by as much as 13 percent through the year 2010.* Employment of fine Artists is expected to grow because of population growth, rising incomes, and growth in the number of people who appreciate fine art.
